ARTIST STATEMENT

Art is a tonic for the human spirit.

Without it, we are empty shells, with no perspective of beauty, tolerance and love.

In my life I have struggled with issues of religion and faith, immigration and displacement, politics and identity.

These things, in turn, inform my work.

Having read Rollo May's "Courage to Create" at the age of fourteen, I knew what I wanted do for the rest of my life.
